The electronic color code is used to indicate the values or ratings of electronic components, very commonly for resistors, but also for capacitors, inductors, and others. Makes for a colorful set of page backgrounds...
In 1995 this was a home page on Pac Bell's internet offering, constructed using their simple site building software. No ".com", just a user page. I was still playing guitar then and wanted to have my music available for for people to listen to. A link to now defunct mp3.com provided a server, it was basic but listenable. In early 2003 the nedeldredge.com domain was registered and online. Adobe Flash provided visitors with (progressive) streaming audio/video. I don't work with Adobe Flash stuff anymore (post 2006) 'cause most of the time I'm tinkering with Ubuntu Linux, which is Open Source Software.
Open Source Software (OSS) projects are built and maintained by a network of volunteer programmers. Prime examples of open source products are the Apache HTTP Server, the e-commerce platform osCommerce and the internet browser Mozilla Firefox. One of the most successful open source products is the GNU/Linux operating system, an open source Unix-like operating system.
